A connoisseur's view of theme parks
Steven Spielberg continues contract
Steven Spielberg is continuing in the theme park business for another 8 years. He has a consulting contract with Universal Studios Florida and there was an option in his contract that he could cash out in June 2010, to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. Needless to say, this would be difficult on Universal in this economy. They aren’t going into details as to what the offer was to stay on, but he was already getting 2% of the gross from Universal Studios Florida.
